Building From the Ground Up
John Farrell’s story in construction began at 14, framing houses while still in high school. After graduating from Xavier High School in Connecticut, he turned down college scholarships to pursue his true passion: building homes. By 24, he had designed and built his own New Smyrna Beach home — one that still holds its modern appeal today.
The Lost Art of Craftsmanship
One of John’s hallmarks is hand-framing roofs — a skill few builders still practice today. While most contractors rely on pre-made trusses, John prefers to cut and frame each rafter himself. The result? More dynamic ceiling structures, better attic space, and homes that feel open and timeless.
Commercial Experience
In addition to residential projects, John has built restaurants and shopping centers across Central Florida — including Quincy’s in New Smyrna Beach and multiple Hardee’s locations. At one point, he even owned and operated a chain of 12 Hardee’s restaurants, managing over 750 employees.
